Still My Own · Track 12 / 16
Let me feel you choosing me.
From Still My OwnAn interrupted wedding gives way to a relationship lived on its own terms. Honest wants, Sunday stories, and a song that one partner learns to love make freedom feel close.
Connected song on Aún Soy Mío
Deja Que Me Llegue
After the interrupted ceremony, the relationship gets ordinary: plans, shirts, Sunday conversation, stories saved to tell each other. Freedom has a particular warmth because both people keep choosing the connection. A disliked song becomes a pleasure worth turning up. Letting each other in changes what both discover they can enjoy.
I want your arms around me
And your life to still be yours. From the lyrics of Let It Reach MeThe opening challenges a bargain that would call suppressing yourself proof of devotion. What follows gives the alternative a daily life: stories, habits, affection, room to want, and the warmth of being chosen again. Openness matters because of what it makes possible between these people. Care is expressed through how they meet, not through how completely one can contain the other.
The album makes room to feel love arriving, not only to defend the conditions for it. I Could Be Wrong finds a subtler misunderstanding inside that real intimacy.

I want your arms around me
And your life to still be yours.Concept, lyric writing, development and revision, musical and performance direction: Christian Rodriguez / Chris in Full.
Chris specified the wedding-parody opening and its interruption, revised the language of freedom and concealed desire, and requested a romantic undertone with a body-moving beat. A relationship can meet everyone else’s expectations while leaving the people inside it afraid to be fully known. Here, intimacy deepens when desire can be spoken without becoming a demand, and being known more fully does not have to mean being loved less.
Across Still My Own, Chris’s original writing, extensive rewriting and narrative development give form to his lived experience, imagination and emotional vision. He works between intuition and reasoning, refining language and musical direction so that phrasing, rhythm and delivery carry what he means. These notes describe creative development, not final recording credits.
